OM
Oh Thou Who givest sustenance to the Universe.
From Whom all things proceed and
to Whom all things return,
Unveil to us the face of the true Spiritual Sun
hidden by a disc of golden light,
that we may know the Truth,
and do our whole duty
as we journey to
Thy Sacred feet.

The Gayatri is one of the most sacred mantrams from the Rigveda.
There are many translations of the Gayatri.
The Gayatri is commonly recited in prayer three times a day
by the members of three upper castes of the Hindu Society.

The Gayatri was initially given to us in Sanskrit and
historically has been recorded to many varying chants.

Another popular translation is:

Let us meditate on the brilliant light
of That One Who is worthy of worship
and Who has created all worlds.
May He direct our minds to the Truth.
