(full moon of Taurus)
There is a high valley in the Himalayan ranges, 390 miles west of Lhasa and not far from Nepal. It is surrounded by high mountains which are covered by trees and shrubs. The valley is oblong in shape, and toward the north it has a narrow passage in front of which stands a huge rock, grayish-white in color and veined by a glittering substance. It is nearly twelve feet in length by six feet wide and about three feet high. The valley is actually a high plateau covered with deep green coarse grass, like a huge carpet. At the north side of the plateau there is a tiny stream which passes through a canyon full of pine trees, and goes a few miles further until it disappears into a clear blue lake. There are not habitations around the valley. You can see only a Buddhist temple and three huts near it in a ruined condition. A few days before the full moon of Taurus, which usually falls in May,
you can see colorful tents on the slopes and near the river. They increase
in number as the full moon approaches. People from surrounding cities,
wandering tribes, disciples, lamas, and great initiates come there for
a beautiful and sacred festival which takes place at the full moon of
Taurus. On the full moon day the whole crowd, dressed in clean clothes, predominantly white in color, gather in the southern part of the valley, leaving the northeastern part free for the great ones. They sit on the ground upon their little carpets or blankets in an orderly manner; they sit in great silence, awe and meditation. Close to the time of the full moon, great ones start to come in their white robes to meet their disciples and friends and exchange blessings, smiles and a few words of cheer. A little later the three great lords come in their etheric bodies, and stand in front of the huge rock facing the north. They are the Manu, the Christ, and the Master R. As they stand there in deep silence, all Masters and Great Ones gather behind these Three Lords, according to their rank. At a given sign all these Great Ones form three concentric circles and start to chant. As the chanting gets deeper and more rhythmic, the etheric visitors materialize and a glorious figure becomes visible at the center of the circles. They call him Maitreya Buddha, Bodhisattva, or the Christ, the Lord of Peace and Love. He is the Teacher of all the Masters Who form the planetary Hierarchy to carry out the Divine Purpose of this planet, leading humanity "from darkness to light, from the unreal to the real, from death to immortality, from chaos to beauty." The Christ appears dressed in a pure white robe, His hair flowing down His shoulders in waves. He has a rod of power in His hand given to Him by the Ancient of Days for this occasion. No Master may touch it except the Christ, the Master of all Masters. On each end of the rod is a large diamond knob which radiates a blue and orange aura of Great Beauty. The initiates standing in the two circles face Him at the Center, and as he becomes more visible, all of them bow to Him and chant a mantram of salutation and affirmation. Then these circles change into one circle and form a cross, at the center of which stands the Christ. Here again powerful chanting thrills the hearts and souls of those present, and more joy, peace and blessings descend upon the crowd. The next movement is a triangle within the circle, at the apex of which stands the Christ. He stands near the rock and places His rod upon it. On the rock you can see a crystal bowl with golden ornamentation, and garlands of lotus flowers cover the rock and hang from the corners. Then they perform another movement, which is a triangle, the sides of which are superimposed with the three ovals interlocking at the center of the triangle where the Christ stands. The next movement is a six pointed star, then the star of Christ- the pentagram. Here Christ stands at the apex, near the rock; at the right point the Manu; at the left point the Lord of Civilization, the Master R; a Great Being stands at the center, and two other Treat Ones at the lower points of the star. Here the chanting creates great tension on the crowd, and Christ, taking His rod from the rock, says: "Ready, Lord, come."Just a few seconds before the full moon, in the blue sky there appears
a speck of light The Great Invocation creates a stupendous current of energy which passes through the hearts of the aspirants, disciples, initiates and reaches to God. This is the most sacred moment of the year, the moment when humanity and divinity make a contact. At the exact time of the full moon the Enlightened One passes to Christ the energy of the First Ray, which is received by Christ and changed into the Will-To-Good. Christ, Who is the Great Celebrant, extends His hands and takes the bowl, raises it over His head and puts it again on the rock. Then the Masters chant sacred hymns, and the Great Enlightened One, after blessing the crowd, slowly disappears into space. Christ distributes the blessed water to the Initiates and to all who are present in the valley. They come in procession, fill their little containers and go in peace. Thus once a year, at the full moon of Taurus, humanity is charged with energies of a great dawn, and a rare opportunity is presented to all sincere disciples to expand their consciousness and consequently serve their fellow man.
Wesak Lectures
“Shambhala” The Master says: “Trace how the word Shambhala is uttered in the East. Try to penetrate, even in a small way, into the ideology of this concept. Try to understand the rhythm of structure of speech about Shambhala, and you will perceive a great reality which causes the harp-strings of humanity to vibrate. Let reason help you to ponder on the values accumulated by the best strivings. ….” New Era Community 1926 Par. 242[1] During each cycle of every full moon there is a moment of contact. The moment of contact occurs at the exact time of each full moon. This year (2002), the Wesak moment of contact (full moon of Taurus) is April 26th at 8:01 PM, M.S.T., and 3:01 AM, G.M.T Three days prior to the moment of contact are the days that many spiritual students around the world concentrate upon right living, purification, and transformation. They begin to ready themselves not only for the Wesak full moon, but for the new spiritual year, the day which follows Wesak, by observing elements in their nature that needed to be transformed such as destructive habits, or habits which they believe have limited their spiritual progress. Once observed, the student then begins to create methods to either eliminate the destructive habits, or establish goals toward which to strive in order to bring about a transformation and thus to establish the next step toward freedom; freedom from maya, glamor and illusion. Most students initiate certain objective and subjective spiritual disciplines which begins with the Aries full moon and continues through the full moon of Gemini. It is on the day of contact, and at the exact time of the full moon spiritual students from around the world will align their entire nature toward all that is beautiful, toward all that is good and honest. It is a time of solemnity and spiritual honesty. It is on the day of contact students can strive to make a conscious contact
with their Teacher. We are told that at the exact moment of the full moon, the disciple’s Master will focus his eyes upon the striving one. The penetration of the Master’s gaze will either immediately or gradually be felt, where the disciple will feel the energies penetrating into the aura, causing a moment of supreme illumination. Illumination of one’s consciousness is a moment where the light generated from the radiating fires, found within higher atoms, will be released into the disciple’s aura. A moment of contact where the Master may, for a moment, illumine you with His spiritual fire. If this occurs, you will feel like a part of you has been twice born. The three days following the day of contact, and the actual day of Wesak can be used to give your love, beauty and compassion to your family, your immediate group, and to the world group. Send your love and compassion to the Hierarchy, to your Teachers, to the New Group of World Servers, and to humanity. I want to share some writings this evening about the subject of Shambhala, for energies and forces of Shambhala are most influential at the time of Wesak. The legend tells us that it is through the eye of Taurus, the star of Aldebaran, that the Shambhala energies, in combination with other forces works toward the externalization of the Hierarchy and the reappearance of the Christ. At the time of Wesak the gate of Shambhala opens, releasing a flood of energies into the hearts of all aspirants, disciples and initiates. The Teaching specifically and explicitly says: “The energies which are released during the Wesak festival come from Sirius, the Great Bear, the constellation of Taurus and especially from the great star Aldebaran. These energies are focused on our Planetary Logos, Sanat Kumara, Shamballa, and the Hierarchy which will then be radiated out and spread throughout all ranks of Initiates, disciples, aspirants and humanity in general, as well as to the lower kingdoms of the planet.” [2] Question: What are the signs of the time of Shambhala? Answer: “The signs of the age of truth and cooperation.”[3] Question: : Is there a prayers to Shambhala that we can voice? Answer: Let us pronounce the prayer to Shambhala: Thou who called me to the path of labor, accept my ableness and my desire. Accept my labor, O Lord, because by day and by night Thou beholdest me. Manifest Thy hand, O Lord, because great is the darkness. I follow thee! Question: What opens the direct path to Shambhala? Answer: “…Not education, not experience, not talent, but precisely the fire of straight-knowledge opens the direct path to Shambhala. Precisely the fire of straight-knowledge indicates the unique quality of the new signs in the midst of daily life. One can foresee that institutions will guard with special care the lives of such sensitive co-workers. Such consciousnesses are like milestones upon a straight road. Scientific observations will be directed by the fire of straight-knowledge.[4] Question: Can you tell us about the universal eye of Shambhala? Answer: “The universal Eye of Shambhala brings Bliss to mankind. The universal Eye of Shambhala is a Light on the path of mankind. The universal Eye of Shambhala is that star which has guided all seekers.
Answer: “For some, Shambhala is the Truth. For others, Shambhala is a utopia. For some the Ruler of Shambhala is a venerable sage. For others, the Ruler of Shambhala is the manifestation of riches. For some, the Ruler of Shambhala is a bedecked idol. For others, the Ruler of Shambhala is the Ruler of all Planetary Spirits. But We shall say, The Ruler of Shambhala is the fiery Impeller of Life and of the Fire of the Mother of the World. His Breath is ablaze with flame and His Heart is aglow with the fire of the Silvery Lotus. “The Ruler of Shambhala lives and breathes in the Heart of the Sun. The Ruler of Shambhala is the Invoker and the Invoked. The Ruler of Shambhala is the Sender of the Arrow and the Receiver of all arrows. The Ruler of Shambhala breathes the Truth and affirms the Truth. The Ruler of Shambhala is invincible, turning destruction into construction. The Ruler of Shambhala is the Crest of the Banner and the Summit of Life. Accept the Ruler of Shambhala as the manifestation of life; thrice I say—of life! For Shambhala is the guaranty of human aspirations. Our manifestation is guaranty of the perfecting of humanity. Our manifestation is the affirmed path to the Infinite.” [5] Question: What are the three doctrines the ruler of Shambhala reveals?
“The ancient legend that affirms the manifestation of Maitreya as a resurrection of the spirit is correct. We will add that the resurrection of the spirit as the conscious acceptance of the Teaching of Lord Maitreya may be precursor to the Advent. Verily, the resurrection!” [6] Question: How can one reach the community of Shambhala? Answer: “Man is merciless to himself. Bewailing his fate, he forgets that he inflicts upon himself a severe penalty. It is difficult for Us to make people assimilate the thought of karma; but in a still more intractable state is the consciousness of a man headed straight for the abyss. People prefer self-destruction and self-deception to the enlightenment of consciousness. “The quest for Shambhala varies widely in the spiritual domain. And is it possible that people believe they will attain the Community of Shambhala through invasion or through fasting? To him who is aware of the path to Us, let us say, ‘Walk by the path of love. Walk by the path of labor. Walk by the path of the shield of faith!’ To him who has found Our Image in his heart, We shall say, "Walk by the way of the heart and the Chalice will affirm the path!" To him who, through conceit, thinks he has attained the path, We shall say, "Go and learn from the spirit who knows consummation." “The little girl carrying the heavy volume of the Bible in the chambers of luxury appears as a creator of a new world. The little girl who perceived the Teacher of Light under the blue sky is the destroyer of the dungeons of darkness. When the spirit of a small girl could feel the Brothers of Humanity, then the name of this spirit is a light-bearing sword. When, since childhood, the spirit could sense that the Brothers of Humanity regenerate that which exists, then this spirit holds the light-bearing name, We cherish the spiritual leaders among children. “The evidence of enlightenment is the best gift to evolution. The Command of cosmic life is a summons to light-sustaining achievement, and this mission is affirmed only by Light.” [7] Question: What is the relationship linking purified fire, higher consciousness and Shambhala? Answer: “The concept of Shambhala is actually linked inseparably with fiery manifestations. Without the application of purified Fire it is impossible to approach the higher concepts. Throughout the entire world people are divided into those who are conscious of Shambhala as the Highest Measure and those who deny the future. Let the word Shambhala be known to but a few; each has a different tongue, but the heart is one. One must manifest solicitous attention to each one who is ready to proceed toward Light. The heart must embrace each manifestation that reverberates to the Good. But only under the Flaming Dome are all equal.”[8] Question: How and where can we recognize the manifestations of Shambhala? Answer: “Shambhala is manifested under the most varying Aspects, in relation to the concepts of a century. It is correct to study all the cycles of the legends of Asia. Thus one can go back as far as the most ancient Teachings connected with Siberia, as the least known and most archaic part of the continent. “The relation of the hieroglyphics found in India to the inscriptions on Easter Island is unquestionable. Thus is disclosed the manifestation of a new relationship of peoples, which fully corresponds to the most ancient sources. Thus, once more you see how the chronicles have preserved the true historical data, but people accept them with difficulty. You observed justly that the facts about the Kalachakra are passed over in silence; this is due not only to ignorance but to an abhorrence of touching the fundamentals. Humanity passes over with equal shudders all the wells of knowledge—this applies to all worlds—and people will shudder just as much over the world of Fire.[9] Question: Is there a Northern Shambhala? Answer: “In the East people thought about a Northern Shambhala, which manifested as the aurora borealis. There also existed a legend that a banner would be set up at the point of the North Pole. Thus are traditions fulfilled; and one may glance into the distant future when, through a shifting of the terrestrial axis, new lands will be discovered which are now concealed. I have already spoken about the uncovering of the tundras. I commend those who look into the future.”[10] “In 1923 the sixth Panchen or Tashi Lama, the head of Esoteric
Buddhism in Tibet, operating from the grand “After he had completed in 1915 a temple which was to shelter a colossal statue of Maitreya, the coming Buddha, the entire Tsang Po Valley has the best crops in years. On the other hand, when he left Tibet in 1923, terrible snowfalls swept the whole country, bringing ruin to the population. “When the Panchen Lama was visiting India he was asked whether the reputed psychic powers of the high lamas of Tibet were true. His Holiness said nothing but only smiled. Then suddenly he vanished and all the attempts to find him failed. But a newcomer beheld an unusual sight from a distance – the Panchen Lama was sitting under a tree while his Indian hosts were looking for him in the garden.” “Professor Nicholas Roerich, whom I have always considered to be my Master ever since I first met him in Shanghai in 1935, wrote the following lines in his Heart of Asia, “If you wish to understand Asia and to approach her as a welcome guest, you must meet your host with the sacred word – Shambhala.” “The writings and paintings of Nicholas Roerich were used as a guide to check the correctness of my findings. The words of his son, Dr. George Roerich, an orientalist with degrees from Harvard and the Sorbonne, clarified many a doubtful point. The writings and letters of Madame Helena Roerich, a disciple of the Himalayan Masters, were likewise of great help. The Roerich family lived in the Kulu Valley in the Himalayas in close proximity to the border of western Tibet. The author himself has stayed in that valley. “The Mahatma Morya thus describes one secret priory in a letter of A.P. Sinnett in 1881: “At a certain spot not to be mentioned to outsiders, there is a chasm spanned by a frail bridge of woven grasses and with a raging torrent beneath. The bravest member of you Alpine clubs would scarcely dare to venture the passage, for it hangs like a spider’s web and seems to be rotten and impassable. Yet it is not: and he who dares the trial and succeeds – as he will if it is right that he should be permitted – comes into a gorge of surpassing beauty of which and whom there is no note or minute among European geographers. At a stone’s throw from the old lamasery stands the old tower, within whose bosom have gestated generations of Bodhisattvas.” “In the Road to Shambhala, a rare 18th century Tibetan book, the third Panchen Lama writes that the realm of Shambhala is situated in a mountain region sheltered on every side by mighty snowy ranges. “ “It is believed that only he who has heard Kalagiya, the Call to Shambhala sent ‘on the wind’ or telepathically by the Great Masters, can ever hope to arrive safely in the Valley of the Wises Men on earth. “Nicholas Roerich recounted the incident of a Siberian lama who went through a narrow underground gallery to get to a sacred abode: “Lama, in Turfan and in Turkestan they showed us caves with long, unexplored passages. Can one reach the ashrams of Shambhala through these routes? Asked Roerich during his expedition. The lamas told him that as the holy men did not wish to be disturbed by explorers or curiosity seekers, the boundaries of their colonies were protected by various methods. Even a wall of poisonous gas from the cracks in the earth was utilized for the purpose. People and animals are known to have trembled on approaching certain localities as if bombarded by some invisible rays. “Naturally in the vast mountainous country it is not easy to find the Abode of the Brotherhood. A pilgrim is journeying in the Gobi Desert to a commune of the Sentinels of Humanity while another is climbing the majestic Himalayas for the same purpose. They have renounced all, yet they possess the world. Clad in simple clothes they are richer and nobler than all the Rajahs of India. The disciple’s heart is aflame with compassion for mankind. His mind is illumined by an unseen light from cosmic depths. A cold mind, a warm heart and a fiery will – these are the passwords to Shambhala, the domain of Kuan Yin, the goddess of universal mercy.” Nicholas Roerich said:
“Dr. Ossendowski discovered interesting facts during his difficult journey in Central Asia. A Mongol lama told him not only about extensive tunnels but even of strange cars which rushed through them. Only a high technology with a powerful energy at its disposal could have constructed a network of tunnels which, according to some reports, were hundreds of kilometers long. To speak of vehicles that run rapidly underground is to suggest a technological achievement of a high caliber. “Nicholas Roerich in 1935 rendered an account of his meetings with the natives wrote: ‘When they appear amidst the desert one begins to think – where was the long waterless journey started, how was it made? But long, long caverns without end have been found.’ “Roerich also wrote of Dr. Lao-Tsin, telling of his journey to the Valley of Shambhala. In a vital narrative, Dr. Lao-Tsin tells many details of his difficult journey with a Nepalese yogi through Mongolian deserts and severe uplands to the Valley where he found an abode of numerous yogis studying the High Wisdom. His description of the laboratories, temples and also of the famous tower, are surprisingly analogous to the descriptions of the remarkable place in other sources. He told of many scientific wonders and of complex experiments in will power and telepathy, conducted over very great distances.” “The reason for the Buddhist terminology used in speaking of Shambhala is simple – Tibet’s geographical proximity to the colony of the Magi, and the ancient links of saintly lamas with this centre. The outside co-workers of Shambhala, the disciples of the Mystery Schools of the East and West who are able to attune themselves to the minds of the great Cosmic Masters, are not too numerous, yet they can be counted in thousands.” “George Roerich in his scholarly work Trails to Inmost Asia says: ‘Shambhala is not only considered to be the abode of hidden Buddhist learning, it is the guiding principle of the coming Kalpa, or cosmic age. Learned abbots and meditating lamas are said to be in constant communication with this mystic fraternity that guides the destinies of the Buddhist world. In New Era Community 1926 Par. 232 Master M. says: “The geographer can be set at ease. We do occupy a definite place on the earth. The conspirator can be comforted; in various parts of the world we have a sufficient quantity of co-workers.” [12]
“The whole question of the Kalachakra system is closely interwoven with the problem of the realm of Shambhala, a mystical region from where the Kalachakra system was brought to India in the second half of the tenth century…. According to Dr. Roerich, the search for the Kingdom of Shambhala and the spiritual communion with its ruler has been the ultimate aim of all devotees of the Kalachakra. These illumined monks have produced words describing the road to Shambhala where geographical indications are blended with instruction as to spiritual prerequisites for entering the Sphere of Shambhala.” “A course in Kalachakra begins with astronomy, astrology and Sanskrit.” Nicholas Roerich says, “This teaching of the Kalachakra is the utilization of the primary energy, and has been called the teachings of Fire, of Agni …the new teaching for the New Era.”[13] [1] ©Agni Yoga Society, Ny, New York Many of the pictures used to illustrate this article are painting by Nicholas Roerich. What is Wesak? In a remote part of the Himalayas is a valley in which Great Beings gather to invoke the energy from the Most High. Tradition tells us this is so. But in reality some people actually see and/or participate in the exact ceremony. We know for example Helena Roerich did, Blavatsky did, and others. The ceremony has many symbols. The participants chant great mantrams. There is actually profound electrical power found in the sounding of the mantrams. The legend tells us that Christ comes and blesses all initiates, disciples and aspirants for one minute. But in actuality that one minute blessing lasts for an eternity. When the Great One comes, he does not come in a human image, but in a condensed Light. This Light is then transferred to members of Shamballa. The Purpose of the Light: The Will of God. You are seeing the Will of God and the Purpose of Life. For the members of Shamballa, one moment is an eternity for them. How?……….They take the Purpose and change it into a Plan. Then the Hierarchy Plans and interprets and translates the Will of God and it’s purpose. Once the Hierarchy receives the Light, the Will of God, they discuss it. They discuss how the Will of god and the Purpose of Life can slowly be taught to Humanity. Then, the Purpose changes into a Plan. They Build the Plan from specific views:
Humanity is exposed to the impact which creates two results:
LAW AND ORDER IS INSIDE OF YOU. WHAT IS THE LAW? A Teaching. Divine Commandments. Wisdom of the Great Ones. The Light and Love and Intelligence of Universe. You must have a law inside you that protects you. It shapes, leads, and guides you into the best feelings, thoughts and actions. When your Head center opens and that energy comes to the Throat and Heart…the Will energy becomes Love (heart) and in the throat, the energy becomes Intelligence. When you make contact with the Wesak energy it develops your inner potential. Your become really dignified, really refined. You know the purpose of Life. You know that Inner Guide. HIERARCHY LOOKS AT THE BALANCE SHEETS:
If in the checks and balances more of us advanced…..then we win & so does the Hierarchy. We in the checks and balances there were more who lost their souls, than there were who advanced, then we lose and so does the Hierarchy. If our image beings to degenerate, we know we are selling ourselves. If we are blooming, we know we are assimilating the energy from the Most High. [ You can learn more about the Hierarchy by reading Super Mundane volumes I and II from the Agni Yoga Society.] PERSONAL BALANCE SHEET – Self-Examination: 1. Ask, did I do meditation throughout the months and years? This is the key of the door, the Gate. It’s esoteric meaning of meditation. Secret doors are open. Chakras are open with scientific balanced intelligent meditation. The Teacher will lead you to open those doors.
TWO PITRIS Two of humanity’s elders quarreled about man. The one of Light declared that man would give up everything. But the Dark One protested that Man would conceal something for himself. They began to test Man. They bereft him of all things until, as a beggar, he wandered aimlessly, dressed only in a torn rag. Looking down at the man, the Light One said, “Behold, he renounced all and lives!” “Wait awhile,” derided the Dark One and he threw upon the road a weeping child. The man covered the child with his last rag and shed a tear. “Behold, he renounced everything,” said the Light One. But the Dark One answered, “Yes, he renounced his rag. But his heart is closed.” Thus, the Dark One outwitted the Light One. What does this mean? We think we renounce so much. We think we give away so much. We think we do so many good deeds. But do we really? How much have we really sacrificed or renounced without concealing something for ourselves? The man put his last rag on the child and shed a tear…..but he did nothing else. He did not pick him up. He did not feed him. He did not show him LOVE. He simply acted mechanically. The tear the man shed was for himself, not for the baby. If his heart was opened, he would have had something to feed the baby with, to clothe the baby with; the open heart would have drawn what was needed for the baby to care for it. But alas, he had very little to give it…for he was immersed in his own loss. All he had was one worldly good, he thought. But, actually he had the wealthiest treasure in the world his heart. But IT WAS CLOSED. Our selfishness closes our heart; our fears close our heart; our vanities close our heart; our lies close our heart. Ask yourself “how was my meditation life this past year? Did I monkey around?” Or, ask yourself, “how much did I gain in wisdom and spiritual power”? 2. Ask what did I read this past year? Then think what you should read to profit from living a Real life? How can you as a soul, profit? Then, make a Plan: Read five to six pure books. Be rhythmic. Organize your life like Hierarchy. 3. Ask yourself, “Did I attend the meetings of my Group?” Why? To strengthen yourself with spiritual nourishment. Say to yourself, “It’s Sunday, no matter what, I will go there and increase my aura, and thus my environment with electromagnetic energies.” Rhythm, it is so important. You can collapse or build your life by the Rhythm in your life. VALUE: Recognize the value of these meetings. THE REWARD A man gave much gold for good works. But he awaited reward for what he did. Once his Teacher sent him a stone with a message: “Accept the reward, the Treasure of the far-off star.” The man became indignant. “Instead of my gold, a stone is given me. What is a far-off star to me?” And in dejection he cast the stone into a mountain stream. But the Teacher came and said, “How did you find the Treasure? In the stone was contained the most precious diamond, sparkling beyond all earthly gems.” In despair the man rushed to the stream. And following the current he descended low and lower. But the ripples of the waves forever hid the treasure. 4. Ask yourself, “How is my relation with my wife, husband, family, friends?” “Do I need to stamp out certain habits, causing disharmony?” Yes? Then do it! You will see how many changes will come into your life. For example: things are not going very well. Take a look at yourself; your ego, vanity, your viewpoint. You can renounce certain things from yourself:
5. Your social obligations and responsibilities. Look at your balance

(1995) Presented by Joleen D. Du Bois © What is Wesak? In a remote part of the Himalayas is a valley in which Great Beings gather to invoke energy from the Most High. The Wesak Festival is performed in one of the sacred valleys of the Himalayas, and is held on four different levels--planes of consciousness--the physical, emotional, mental and intuitional planes. You can learn of this spiritual and sacred ceremony throughout history in both legend and tradition. We know through the Teachings and in conversation with one another of some people who have participated in the Wesak ceremony. We are told for example Helena Roerich did, and H.P. Blavatsky; they all had memories of attending the ceremony. Some disciples consciously attend the ceremony in their astral body, others in their mental body, and the more advanced ones, in their spiritual body. If you attend the ceremony, you may have a conscious memory of the experience, or you may attend without the memory of the experience. Memory depends upon the purity of your consciousness and the level of your contact with higher planes. Whether in attendance of the ceremony or not, the effects of the ceremony will be experienced all over the world. In the book Symphony of the Zodiac by Torkom Saraydarian, and available in our book store, we are given a few ways that a person can participate in the ceremony. Remember, that, according to tradition, the event not only takes place in the physical world, but also on the various planes of existence. If you want to attend the ceremony on the physical plane, you need to secure a means of travel to arrive at the Himalayan mountains. The same is true with subjective travel. If you want to attend the ceremony on the emotional plane you must have experience and knowledge in how to use the emotional body as a vehicle or mechanism in which to "travel." If you want to enter into the higher worlds you must know how to engage your mental vehicle. If you only have a physical vehicle, you will see the physical part of the ceremony. A few years ago some students of the Ageless Wisdom made a video of their trek to the Wesak Festival. We were able to view the ceremony as it took place upon the physical plane. But in order to attend the other aspects of the ceremony, for example the astral level of the ceremony, requires that you have an emotional vehicle that travels in a very pure emotional world, not laden with glamors, low level desires, etc. The same law applies to the mental equivalent of that event, if your mental vehicle is built, and is pure, you can experience the ceremony on that level. If your intuitional body is built you can view the entire solemnity, beauty and magnificence of the whole of the Wesak ceremony. You can observe the whole process. You will recognize the subtle magnetic sphere the Masters created in the valley of the Himalayas; you can see the distribution of the energy as it affects and relates to disciples everywhere. You can see the Great Chohans in their subtle bodies and even the protective invisible electric wall which surrounds the valley, repelling all those who try to attend the ceremony, but whose readiness is not yet qualified. To have a memory of the experience you must have continuity of consciousness, a constructed bridge between the lower and higher mind. Without the constructed bridge, when you return from the ceremony, there is no way to record the experience. Such a person will retain the energy of beauty, joy and bliss, but not have any memory of the experience. So, if we want to attend these kind of events, we must start to purify our bodies and build the bridge, sometimes called the Rainbow Bridge, through occult meditation. Many people have a glamor about attending the Wesak Festival. But actually until our lives are constructed from the fabric of service, selflessness, solemnity, and used as an instrument of the Great Ones, it is more important to work on ourselves, and get our physical, emotional and mental bodies in a harmonious pattern. The wisest action that you can take is to set aside the seven days of the Wesak Festival, each year, as the most holy days of your life and use them to work upon yourself. This year the seven day period begins Tuesday, April 27th, and continues through Monday, May 3rd. Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday can be days dedicated to right living, purification, sublimation of all that works against the purpose of your physical, emotional and mental nature and transformation of the lower vehicles. On the day of contact, the actual day of the Wesak Festival, align your entire nature toward all that is beautiful, and to all that is good and honest. On the day of contact you can strive to make contact with your Soul. At the moment of contact your Master will focus his eyes upon you and you will feel the energies penetrating into your aura causing a moment of supreme enlightenment. Enlightenment of your mind and consciousness; a moment where the hidden light in the atoms and cells of your vehicles will be released. You will feel like a part of you has been born again. Total transfiguration takes place when your soul takes the third initiation. The three days following the day of contact, and the actual day of Wesak can be used to give your love, beauty and compassion to your family, your group, and to the world. Send it to the Hierarchy, to your Teachers, to the New Group of World Servers; and to humanity. The ceremony has many symbols. The participants chant great mantrams. There is actually a profound electrical power that is found in the sounding of the mantrams; a power similar to what is radiated when a group sounds the Great Invocation with great concentration. In the legend that was read to us this evening, we heard that Christ charges the field with his presence, while the Great Lord Buddha comes and blesses all initiates, disciples and aspirants for one minute. But in actuality that one minute blessing lasts for an eternity. When the Great One comes, he does not come in a human image, but in His subtle body - in a condensed Light. This Light is transferred to members of Shamballa. [1] This lecture is copyright protected by the White Mountain Education Association.
