Unity and Synthesis
by Joleen D. Du Bois

“All I can say is that synthesis is, whilst unity is achieved and is the reward of action and effort. As you progress upon the Path of Initiation the meaning of unity clarifies. As you direct yourself towards the Way of the Higher Evolution synthesis emerges.” (The Tibetan)

Unity is the foundation of togetherness, of harmony, cooperation and right human relations. Unity is the passage of integration and initiation. Unity is built through the renunciation and sacrifice of all those elements that are not in harmony with the prototype of the soul. Initiation is the stage by stage expansion and fusion of ones consciousness with the greater whole. Initiation charges one with higher energy - higher levels of synthesis. The first labor of the human soul is to synthesize the heart, mind and solar plexus into a unified whole.

It is through the fundamental sense of spiritual unity we become aware of the needs of others - the needs of the family, of friends and co-workers, the needs of the group and it’s leadership. Through the sense of unity we become sensitive to the needs of the animal and plant kingdoms; to the crimes of pollution and resulting disintegration of nature and the planet; to the Beauty of the higher kingdoms. It is through a deep sense of unity we receive the inspiration to renounce and transform all hindrances that prevent us from serving the synthesis of Life.

Synthesis can not be created by our actions or efforts because synthesis permeates all life. Synthesis permeates man, the planet and solar system; we cannot create synthesis, for synthesis is - it is all pervading.

Synthesis is the relationship of all parts to the whole. The signs of synthesis can be recognized in those individuals, groups, nations and cultures who are pure; who have healthy physical, emotional, and mental bodies; who demonstrate good will, inclusiveness and right human relations.

Those who have the sense of synthesis have courage and daring; they are inspired with Beauty, Goodness, Truth, Joy and Freedom; they serve the Self in others. Synthesis is the recognition of the One Self in all Life. The Buddha and Christ are examples of Synthesis - through them radiate the Teachings of the Sun, of Shamballa. Meditation and service serves as the path toward synthesis.

Unity and synthesis puts people in subjective communication with one another - it brings people closer together. Unity and synthesis links the lower kingdoms with the higher. Unity and synthesis links humanity with the laws and principles of the Universe.

Synthesis stands behind all variances. Synthesis permeates all life and is the origin of all that exists.
