The Exoteric Ruler is Mars:
The Esoteric Ruler is Mercury: “Through the fiery processes of war and strife, brought to the individual through the influence of the planetary ruler, Mars, the God of War, a needed purification takes place. The same purification, but this time through vision, comes to the developed man through the activity of the subjective ruler of the planet, Mercury, who is the illuminating principle which releases the mind, directs the way of man through life and enables him to become aware of the divine Plan which underlies all his fiery experience.” (Pg. 95/6)
The Hierarchical Ruler is Uranus: “Uranus gives innate spontaneous activity and this produces evolutionary development–both natural and spiritual. It is the urge to better conditions.” (Pg. 139)
Interpretation
Okay, so what does this mean to us in our daily life during the Sun’s passage through the sign of Aries? Our best clue comes from looking at what is going on between the three ruling planets for this solar month.
The month begins with Mars and Mercury doing a dance which transmits to Humanity the energy of “opportunity”. Given the strife that is currently going on in the world, this current energy provides the opportunity for utilization of the mind and the mental plane before action is taken. With Mars in the sign of Taurus and Mercury in the sign of Pisces, the beneficent energy can provide intuitive thought and practical action. This is a good combination of energies to be utilized by us in our daily lives, and for our leaders as they make global decisions.
On March 30th, Mercury enters the sign of Aries. Now is the time to put into action whatever had been developed and planned in the previous two weeks. During this time, Mars will be contacting Uranus in a dance that is challenging. When these two planets interact in any fashion, the result is most often of a sudden, unexpected and unusual nature. We should watch ourselves and the world during the days of April 8 - 11 for the possible manifestation of these potent energies.
On April 14th, Mercury enters the sign of Taurus. This has a calming, stabilizing effect on the energies of Mars and Uranus. It is interesting to notice that at the end of the Sun’s passage through the sign Aries, the planet Mercury will be at exactly the same place (13 degrees of the sign Taurus) as the planet Mars was at the beginning of the Sun’s passage through Aries. This has the effect of the passing of the baton.... as if the energy of Mars (activity) is being passed on to Mercury (thought). We should all be able to end the solar month with the mental plane controlling our physical plane activity.
In the background is the energy transmitted by the planet Uranus, which is passing through the sign Aquarius, supporting the cosmic dance of Mars and Mercury. It encourages innovation, particularly focused on unique, creative solutions for current problems. It provides the constant message: Do what is the greater good for the greater number, using your mind and your actions to establish better conditions for all.
