About its Founder...
Joleen Dianne Du Bois has dedicated her life to helping other people so that they may experience more beautiful, creative and healthy lives. From early childhood, her life has been a search for joy. A joy she knew would not be fully realized until she could recognize her purpose in life and actualize that purpose. From the founding of the White Mountain Education Association in 1981, she has been able to present others with the opportunity to discover a life of vision and purpose.

Joleen Du Bois is a teacher of spiritual science, the Ageless Wisdom, and an accomplished writer, astrologer, composer and musician. She studied and performed music from the age of four, and it was her travels in the world of music that led her to a path of spiritual striving and unfoldment. Meeting and studying with various spiritual teachers, she eventually earned the opportunity to share the wisdom that they had given to her. Joleen became an ordained minister in 1981, and one year later, with the support of husband and two sons, her friends, and co-workers, was able to establish the White Mountain Education Association.

Joleen Du Bois is a member of the American Association of University Women (AAUW), National Association for Female Executives (NAFE), and recently was selected for membership in The World's Who's Who of Women.

GLEANINGS ON THE HEART

A Commentary by Joleen D. Du Bois

"The heart is the bridge between the worlds." (1)

The heart is the vehicle which takes the traveler to the Subtle Worlds. When one has a purified heart, a heart free from worldly vipers, free from destructive influences, he can use the psychic energy of the Heart to travel to the Abode of Shamballa. The destination of the heart is the Cosmic Heart. Within every heart there is the presence of the Cosmic Heart.

"Above and beyond the actions of all the centers the significance of the heart is evident."(2) Until mankind develops his heart, until he understands the Teaching of the Heart, all that he does will be used for separative, selfish and ego-centered activities. Such a man does not use the Heart for his travels, but rather lower centers such as the spleen or solar plexus center. Such a man might be considered powerful in an earthly domain, but in the supermundane world such a person is known as destructive, exploitative and manipulative; one who has no sense of future. One who cultivates the Heart is one who builds bridges to the future. Such a one has infused all his other centers with the chemistry of the Heart.

One who has purified his heart lives a creative life; through the various forms of his creativity, whether art, writing, music, poetry or speech, such a one radiates the fires of the Heart - the fires of love, compassion and bliss. A man whose mental mechanism is fused with the flame of his Heart is one who ignites the Hearts of others - his labor ignites their love, goodwill and sense of future. When an individual, family, group or nation is touched by one who is centered in his Heart, their chemistry changes. A Heart centered person evokes harmony, rhythm and the "music" of the spheres in others.

"There are those in Our Abode whose incarnations have been separated by many centuries. It would seem that Their mentality would be very different, because after three generations one's thought processes change completely, but in Our collaboration this is not noticed."(3) When ones consciousness is fused with the twelve-petaled Lotus - the Chalice, or with the Heart center in the head - the 1000 petaled Lotus, with his awakened consciousness man can penetrate into in the Ashrams of the Higher Worlds and teach or, is taught by the disciples and the Master; whatever he is taught, he can then translate, write and communicate through his mental apparatus, the Higher Mind - thus the incarnations of those in the Abode, despite a separation of centuries, are united in cooperation and synthesis with the Abode.

In order to serve as a bridge between worlds we must cultivate the qualities of the Heart; we must purify our heart. This can be done with the guidance of one's Teacher and through spiritual discipline. Some disciplines to practice are:

  1. Regular and rhythmic meditation
  2. See the flame of Beauty in all
  3. Renunciation of the ego
  4. Humility
  5. Cleansing yourself of all vanity
  6. Cultivate the virtues of the heart
  7. Deepen your aspiration
  8. Healthy relationships
  9. The practice of forgiveness
  10. Do something selfless
